If you've ever fished saltwater in New England, or visited any fly fishing show on the east coast, you've probably run into Jack Gartside at some point. An eccentric fly tyer, artist, and author who learned how to fish at 10 years old by Ted Williams.
Jack invented the Gartside Gurgler, a saltwater staple, and was a regular feature tyer at all of the fly fishing shows around the country. His artwork, tying patterns, and writing kept us entertained and enthralled. We are grateful to have known him.
